Our hot water tank went down this morning and we were at a loss. I called Sargent's plumbing and Andrew Sargent took my call. He had Jeffrey Sargent come to our house in a very short matter of time. Jeffrey installed a new hot water tank and you could tell that he really takes pride in his workmanship. Totally satisfied with the quick response and a job well done. Follow up, I had a slight drain problem from the install but Sargent's plumbing responded immediately and took care of it. Great company, with great service.

We’ve used Sargent’s Plumbing twice and both times they were awesome! The first time was last Christmas Eve afternoon. Our half bath toilet was leaking. They were able to schedule us that day. Hayden arrived on time, assessed the situation, fixed it quickly and didn’t leave a mess. Just recently, the same toilet developed another problem. Called Sargent’s. Jeffrey arrived a little early (not a problem), listened to my concerns and made some adjustments hoping to correct the problem. Unfortunately, it didn’t. He told me it might not; that the toilet should be replaced. Doing that in a couple of days. Quoted a reasonable price for this replacement. He and Andrew have been very patient in answering my questions. Highly recommend!

We have had issues with our sewer backing up into the house for a long time. I was worried when I first called because Sargent’s charges by the hour but wait.. They helped unclog the drain so fast it will make your head spin! Super nice, honest, and much more than fair to say the least. Use Sargent’s once and you won’t let anyone else help with your plumbing. Our issue was a little flap that broke off to keep sewage from back flowing into the home. (Ironic isn’t it that this is exactly what this valve caused several times?!). We couldn’t be happier!

24/7 EMERGENCY Gas Line Installation

Gas line work is typically a scheduled project, not an emergency. However, if you suspect a gas leak from a poorly installed line, that is a critical emergency. You must evacuate the home and call 911 or your gas utility first. Sargent’s Plumbing & Drain can then be called for the emergency repair. Homeowners in Broken Arrow can count on us for urgent plumbing needs.

Gas Line Installation in Broken Arrow, OK

Gas line installation is the process of running new gas pipes to fuel appliances in your home. This is a highly specialized task that should only be performed by licensed professionals. The service involves tapping into your existing gas main or meter. We then run a new, dedicated line to the location of your new appliance. This could be for a new kitchen range, a tankless water heater, a fireplace insert, or an outdoor fire pit. The process requires careful planning to ensure the pipe is sized correctly for the appliance’s demands. It must also be routed safely and securely.

Safety is the number one priority with any gas line installation. Natural gas is combustible, and a leak can be extremely dangerous. Our plumbers are fully licensed and trained in all local and national gas codes. We use only approved materials, such as black iron or flexible CSST piping, depending on the application. Every connection must be sealed perfectly with an approved pipe sealant. We follow strict protocols for routing lines, ensuring they are not in locations where they could be punctured. This adherence to code is not optional; it is essential for protecting your home.

Our installation process begins with a free in person estimate. We will discuss your project and inspect your home’s existing gas system. We determine the best route for the new line and calculate the correct pipe diameter. This ensures your new appliance gets adequate gas pressure without affecting other appliances. On installation day, we will safely shut off the gas supply. Our plumbers then run the new line, securing it properly. We make the final connections at the appliance and the source. The most critical step is last: the pressure test. We pressurize the new line with air and use a gauge to confirm it is 100% leak free.

New gas line installations can transform your home’s comfort and efficiency. Many Broken Arrow homeowners run lines for outdoor living. This includes gas grills, fire pits, and pool heaters, eliminating the need for propane tanks. Inside, we install lines for gas stoves and cooktops, which are preferred by serious cooks. We also run lines for gas clothes dryers, which can be more efficient than electric models. Other common installations include gas fireplaces, tankless water heaters, and whole home generators. Each appliance has specific requirements, and our team knows how to meet them all.

We primarily use two types of materials for gas lines. Traditional black iron pipe is a heavy duty, rigid steel pipe. It is extremely durable and has been the industry standard for decades. Its connections are threaded and must be sealed perfectly. Because it is rigid, it requires more time and labor to install, especially in tight spaces. The other option is CSST, or Corrugated Stainless Steel Tubing. This is a flexible pipe that is much faster to install. It can be routed through walls and joists easily, similar to electrical wire. It is also durable and safe when installed correctly by a certified professional.

Gas line installation is absolutely not a DIY project. The risks are catastrophic, including fire, explosion, and carbon monoxide poisoning. It takes specialized knowledge to correctly size pipes; an undersized pipe will starve your appliance of fuel. An oversized pipe is a waste of money and can be difficult to work with. Sealing threaded pipe connections properly requires practice and the right sealant. An amateur’s good enough connection can easily develop a slow, odorless leak. Furthermore, this work almost always requires a permit and inspection. A DIY job will not pass inspection and can void your homeowner’s insurance.

Choosing Sargent’s Plumbing & Drain for your gas line installation is the safe, responsible choice. Our business is built on honesty and hard work. We provide straightforward quotes and perform work that exceeds code requirements. We are fully licensed and insured for gas plumbing. Our team offers long term warranties on our work, giving you permanent peace of mind. As a locally owned company, we are dedicated to serving our community, which is why we offer discounts for veterans, seniors, and teachers. We provide a 5 star service experience from the initial call to the final, successful pressure test.air, reliable service.

All Services Offered By Our Plumbers in Broken Arrow, OK

Sargent’s Plumbing & Drain is based in Broken Arrow, located at 605 W Oakland Pl, Broken Arrow, OK 74012, proudly serves customers in the Tulsa metro area. In addition to Gas Line Installation, we offer a full range of plumbing services for homes and businesses. Below is our services list offered by our plumbers:

What Makes a Great Gas Line Installation Service

A great gas line installation service prioritizes safety above all else. The service starts with a detailed plan and a free, accurate estimate. The plumbers are fully licensed and certified for gas work. They use only high quality, code approved materials. Every joint and connection is sealed and inspected meticulously. The most crucial step is a thorough pressure test to guarantee there are no leaks. A great service is also clean, with minimal disruption to the home. The plumber ensures the appliance is connected and working perfectly before leaving.

Most Common Gas Line Installation Questions

Adding a new gas appliance is an exciting upgrade for your home. Because this work involves natural gas, homeowners have many important safety questions. Here are the common questions we answer about gas line installation in Broken Arrow.

The cost to run a new gas line varies significantly from one project to the next. The most important factor is the length of the new pipe. A short, 10 foot run to a stove in a kitchen with a basement is relatively simple. A long, 100 foot run to an outdoor grill will cost substantially more. The complexity of the route also matters. Running pipe through an open, unfinished basement is easier than fishing it through finished walls and ceilings.

The type of pipe material used also affects the price. Black iron pipe is generally less expensive in materials but costs more in labor to install. CSST flexible piping costs more for the material but is much faster to install, often balancing out the total cost. The project will also require a permit from the city, and the cost of this permit is factored into the quote. Any project that requires trenching, such as for a pool heater, will also have higher labor costs.

Sargent’s Plumbing & Drain provides free in person estimates for all gas line projects. This allows our licensed plumber to see the site, plan the route, and measure the distance. We can then give you a straightforward, accurate quote with no hidden fees. We believe in honest pricing for our 5 star service. We also offer discounts for seniors, veterans, and teachers, making our professional services more affordable.

The timeline for a gas line installation depends entirely on the project’s scope. A simple installation, like connecting a new dryer that is close to the existing gas main, can be quick. This type of job might only take two to four hours. This includes shutting off the gas, running the new pipe, making the connections, and performing the pressure test. We work efficiently to minimize the time your gas is turned off.

More complex projects will take longer. Installing a line for an outdoor fire pit, for example, may take a full day or more. This type of job requires trenching, routing the pipe underground, and passing it through the home’s exterior wall. Installations that require navigating finished walls and multiple floors also add to the time. Our team will give you a clear time estimate before we begin.

We understand that your time is valuable. Our plumbers arrive on time and prepared to work diligently. We strive to complete the installation with as little disruption to your home as possible. We always clean up our work area after the job is done. The final pressure test is the last step, and we will not leave until we have confirmed your new line is 100% safe and leak free.

Recognizing the signs of a gas leak is a critical safety skill. The most obvious sign is the smell of sulfur or rotten eggs. Natural gas is odorless, so utility companies add this smell, called mercaptan, specifically to alert you. If you smell this, you must act immediately. A hissing or whistling sound near a gas line or appliance is another clear warning sign. This sound is the gas escaping under pressure.

You might also see physical signs outside your home. If a gas line is leaking underground, it can cause a patch of grass or plants to turn brown and die. You may see bubbles in standing water or wet ground. Inside your home, you might notice the pilot light on an appliance is out. If you feel dizzy, nauseous, or have a headache, and the symptoms improve when you go outside, it could be a sign of gas exposure.

If you suspect a gas leak, do not do anything that could create a spark. Do not turn lights on or off, do not use your phone, and do not unplug appliances. Leave the home immediately, leaving the door open behind you. Go to a safe distance and call 911 or your gas utility’s emergency line. After the utility has declared the area safe, you can call Sargent’s Plumbing & Drain for the repair.

Yes, we install gas lines for outdoor grills, fire pits, and pool heaters frequently. This is one of our most popular gas line installation services in Broken Arrow. A dedicated natural gas line for your grill is incredibly convenient. It eliminates the need to ever buy or refill heavy propane tanks again. Natural gas is also typically less expensive to use than propane, saving you money over time.

The installation process involves running a new gas line from your home’s gas meter or an existing main. This line is typically run through your basement or crawlspace to an exterior wall. We then run the pipe underground, burying it at the code required depth. We trench a line from your house to the grill’s location on your patio or deck. We then install a shutoff valve and a quick connect fitting for your grill.

This project requires careful planning and adherence to safety codes. The underground pipe must be the correct type and depth to avoid damage. We handle the entire process, including any necessary trenching. Our plumbers ensure the line is correctly sized to provide ample fuel for your grill. We finish the job with a complete pressure test to guarantee safety.

CSST stands for Corrugated Stainless Steel Tubing. It is a flexible, stainless steel pipe with a protective yellow or black plastic coating. It has become a very popular and approved alternative to traditional black iron pipe. Its main advantage is flexibility. This allows it to be routed through a home’s structure much more easily than rigid pipe. This significantly reduces installation time and labor costs.

Yes, CSST is extremely safe when it is installed correctly by a certified professional. It must be installed according to the manufacturer’s specifications and all local codes. This includes using the proper fittings for all connections. A critical safety requirement is proper bonding. The CSST system must be bonded to the home’s electrical grounding system. This is vital to prevent a gas leak or fire if the pipe is ever struck by lightning.

Our plumbers at Sargent’s Plumbing & Drain are certified in the installation of CSST. We understand all the specific requirements for fittings and bonding. We only use high quality CSST systems from reputable manufacturers. We will assess your project and determine if CSST or traditional black iron pipe is the better solution. You can be confident that our installation will be 100% safe and code compliant.

Yes, in almost all cases, a permit is required for a new gas line installation in Broken Arrow. Any time you are adding to or modifying your home’s gas piping system, a permit is necessary. This is a crucial safety measure. The permit process ensures that the work is performed by a licensed contractor. It also triggers a third party inspection by a city official.

The inspection is for your protection. The inspector will visit the site after our work is complete. They will verify that we used the correct materials. They will check that the pipe is sized properly and routed according to code. Most importantly, they will witness our pressure test to confirm there are no leaks. This process ensures the installation is completely safe.

Sargent’s Plumbing & Drain handles the entire permitting and inspection process for you. We include it as part of our service. We know the local codes and what inspectors look for. We guarantee our work will pass inspection the first time. This gives you documented proof that the job was done correctly, which is important for your home’s safety and for future resale value.

A gas line pressure test is the most critical step in any gas line installation. It is a non negotiable test that verifies the new piping is completely free of leaks. After the new line is installed and all connections are sealed, we cap the end of the line. We then attach a special pressure gauge to the pipe. This gauge is extremely sensitive and can detect tiny drops in pressure.

We disconnect the line from the meter and appliance. We then fill the new pipe with compressed air to a specific pressure, for example, 15 PSI. This is a much higher pressure than the low pressure natural gas your system normally uses. Once pressurized, we let the gauge sit for a set amount of time, such as 15 or 30 minutes, as required by local code.

If the needle on the gauge does not move at all, it proves the line is perfectly sealed. Even a microscopic leak would cause the pressure to drop over that time. We will not, under any circumstances, introduce gas into a line that has not passed this test. This rigorous testing is part of our commitment to safety. It is our guarantee to you that your new installation is 100% leak free and safe for your family.

Yes, we can absolutely move an existing gas line. This is a common request during kitchen or laundry room renovations. If you are moving your gas stove to a new wall or relocating your gas dryer, we can help. The process is similar to a new installation. We will shut off the gas, then cut into the existing pipe. We then remove the old section and run a new line to your desired location.

This work must be done by a licensed professional. We need to ensure the new route is safe and code compliant. We must also cap and permanently seal the old, unused portion of the gas line. This prevents any possibility of future leaks from the abandoned pipe. We will plan the new route to be as efficient as possible.

Just like a new installation, all modified piping must be pressure tested. We will isolate the new section of pipe and test it for leaks. This ensures all our new connections are secure. Once it passes the test, we can connect your appliance in its new spot. This service allows you to redesign your space with flexibility, knowing the gas plumbing is handled safely.
