We have had Sargent’s out several times for various fixes and upgrades. They are well informed and do a great job laying out your options. They get the work done in a timely manner; they have good availability; and, their prices are on par with the market. We’ve also received recommendations for tradesman in other areas of home maintenance, which has helped us resolve issues outside the scope of plumbing.

Our hot water tank went down this morning and we were at a loss. I called Sargent's plumbing and Andrew Sargent took my call. He had Jeffrey Sargent come to our house in a very short matter of time. Jeffrey installed a new hot water tank and you could tell that he really takes pride in his workmanship. Totally satisfied with the quick response and a job well done. Follow up, I had a slight drain problem from the install but Sargent's plumbing responded immediately and took care of it. Great company, with great service.
Sargents plumbing did a great job for us! They returned our service call immediately on a Sunday and came out to our home the following day at the exact time they said they would. The clogged drain was cleared immediately!!! Sargents plumbing staff is very professional and informative. Great service!!
I had the best experience with Sargent’s Plumbing & Drain I’ve ever had with someone in my home, beyond plumbing only. They came when they said they would. Came back to address concerns and make sure everything was right. Took care of our house and cleaned up after themselves. Andrew provided expertise as a plumber and exceptional customer service. Highly recommended!
Rather than charge for a service call, the owner walked me through how to fix my garbage disposal. Wow! Guess who is now in my contacts should I ever need a plumber again.
On time, professional and very fair with prices. Definitely use them again!
Outstanding job, very fast getting the job done replacing my hot water tank and fixing my leak. Highly recommend!

Great job installing new toilet and vanity. Timely and fair pricing. Will definitely use again.
Best plumber I've ever used. His attention to detail is amazing. He cares about the job he is doing, no matter the size. Neat, doesn't leave a mess. Very personal service, nothing like the corporate plumbing companies out there.
They did a great job addressing all of our issues and did it within one hour, which saved us a good amount of money.
Sargent Plumbing got me taken care of with same day service. Jeffrey’s attitude was very pleasant and professional. Will be using them for all my plumbing needs in the future.
They were quick to respond on the weekend and very reasonable on pricing. Highly recommend them!
Very knowledgeable. Arrived within 30 minutes after speaking with them.
Super awesome company! They were fast and super reasonably priced. We had an emergency water pipe bust and they were out same day without charging us an arm and a leg.
Andrew is very professional and fair priced and also makes an effort to connect and care for his customers. I had a pipe bust late one evening and not only did he drop what he was doing to get my home fixed up, he also gave me a more than a reasonable charge (didn’t hit me with a hefty emergency bill). I highly recommend Sargents plumbing for anything you need.
This is the best plumbing company i've ever used and I will be calling them for all of my future plumbing needs. Very professional, fairly priced, and great work. Highly recommend.
Did the job the same day the problem happened. Jeffrey did a great job fixing the problem. If you're looking for a reliable service, I highly recommend them.
Andrew is the best extremely knowledgeable and very helpful . I highly recommend !
Above and beyond on customer service! Fair quotes! Would recommend to anyone!
Bought a house a few months back that had plumbing issues we didn’t know where there. In a panic I searched the web for reputable companies and Sargent’s Plumbing and Drain came out within 30 mins, gave me a free quote and assured they would have it brand new. I can wholeheartedly endorse this amazing company led by a very respectable and knowledgeable young man. If you have ANY plumbing concerns, Sargents should be your first and only call!
We’ve used Sargent’s Plumbing twice and both times they were awesome! The first time was last Christmas Eve afternoon. Our half bath toilet was leaking. They were able to schedule us that day. Hayden arrived on time, assessed the situation, fixed it quickly and didn’t leave a mess. Just recently, the same toilet developed another problem. Called Sargent’s. Jeffrey arrived a little early (not a problem), listened to my concerns and made some adjustments hoping to correct the problem. Unfortunately, it didn’t. He told me it might not; that the toilet should be replaced. Doing that in a couple of days. Quoted a reasonable price for this replacement. He and Andrew have been very patient in answering my questions. Highly recommend!
We have had issues with our sewer backing up into the house for a long time. I was worried when I first called because Sargent’s charges by the hour but wait.. They helped unclog the drain so fast it will make your head spin! Super nice, honest, and much more than fair to say the least. Use Sargent’s once and you won’t let anyone else help with your plumbing. Our issue was a little flap that broke off to keep sewage from back flowing into the home. (Ironic isn’t it that this is exactly what this valve caused several times?!). We couldn’t be happier!
Jeffery was a quick and efficient plumber. He fixed the problem and he did a great job. He has a friendly personality and a hard worker. They get the job done right the first time!
I had a sudden pipe leak from old copper pipes on a weekend. I found Sargents and they came out right away and started working on a fix. They lined up a restoration company that was on the job immediately with machines to dehumidify. I ended up having them re pipe my house and they worked on a Sunday until it was finished. I also had them install a new water heater. Everything was done promptly and professionally. I would highly recommend
They were prompt and very informative. I am female and was never spoken down to (asi have experienced with others). Friendly. I highly recommend
Had a wonderful experience with Sargent's Plumbing! Andrew was very professional, extremely knowledgeable and provided excellent communication throughout the whole project! Great pricing and got us back up and running from our gas leak issue very quickly! Will be using them again in the future!

Tankless Water Heaters in Broken Arrow, OK
A tankless water heater is a modern appliance that provides on demand hot water. Unlike a traditional tank, it does not store 40 or 50 gallons of hot water. Instead, it heats water instantly as you need it. When you turn on a hot water faucet, cold water flows into the unit. A powerful gas burner or electric element ignites. This heats the water to your set temperature in seconds. This technology provides an endless supply of hot water. You will never run out, even if you run multiple showers. It also saves energy. You are not paying to keep a large tank hot 24/7.
We specialize in the installation of tankless water heaters. This project is more complex than a standard tank installation. A gas tankless unit, in particular, requires significant upgrades. It needs a much larger gas line to fuel its powerful burner. It also needs a new, specialized ventilation system. This is critical for safety. Our licensed plumbers are certified to perform these upgrades. We follow all gas and venting codes. We will help you select the right size unit for your home. Sizing is based on your flow rate and temperature rise needs.
The benefits of going tankless are significant. The most popular benefit is the endless hot water. You can run multiple showers, a dishwasher, and laundry all at once. You will never have to take a cold shower again. The second major benefit is energy savings. A tankless unit only burns gas when you are using hot water. A traditional tank constantly reheats its water, all day and all night. This standby loss is eliminated. This can save you a significant amount of money on your utility bills. Tankless units are also much smaller. They mount on a wall, freeing up valuable floor space.
Tankless water heaters also have a much longer lifespan. A traditional tank water heater lasts about 8 to 12 years. They eventually rust out and leak. A high quality tankless water heater, when properly maintained, can last 20 years or more. This is because they are not constantly holding corrosive water. Many of their components are also replaceable. This long lifespan helps offset the higher initial installation cost. It makes it a fantastic long term investment in your home.
We also provide expert tankless water heater repair. While durable, these are complex machines. They have flow sensors, electronics, and ignition systems. If your unit is not producing hot water or is showing an error code, we can help. Our plumbers are trained to diagnose and repair all major brands. We can fix ignition failures, flow sensor problems, and more. We offer 24/7 emergency service. We will get your hot water back on quickly. We believe in honest service. If a repair is not cost effective, we will tell you.
Maintenance is the key to a 20 year lifespan. Tankless water heaters must be serviced annually. Oklahoma has very hard water. This water leaves mineral deposits, or scale, inside the unit’s heat exchanger. This scale buildup will reduce efficiency. It will also clog the unit and cause it to fail. Our maintenance service involves a descaling. We flush the unit with a special, non toxic solution. This dissolves all the mineral buildup. This service keeps your unit running at peak efficiency. It is a vital part of protecting your investment.
Choosing Sargent’s Plumbing & Drain means you are choosing certified experts. Installing a gas tankless unit is not a DIY job. It involves high pressure gas lines and complex venting. An improper installation is extremely dangerous. Our plumbers are licensed and insured. We are a locally owned company built on honesty and hard work. We offer free in person estimates for new installations. We provide long term warranties. We also offer discounts for veterans, teachers, and seniors. This is our 5 star service guarantee.

What Makes a Great Tankless Water Heaters Service
A great tankless water heater service is defined by expertise. For installation, the plumber must be certified. They must correctly calculate the home’s flow rate needs. They must be an expert in upgrading the gas line and installing the complex vent system. They follow all codes for safety. For repair, a great plumber understands the complex electronics. They can read the error codes. They can diagnose the sensors and ignition systems. For maintenance, they have the proper descaling pumps and solutions. They do not cut corners. The service is thorough and precise.
Most Common Tankless Water Heaters Questions
Tankless water heaters are a popular upgrade. Homeowners are curious about the benefits, the cost, and the requirements. Here are the most common questions we answer about this modern technology in Broken Arrow.
A tankless water heater has a higher initial cost than a traditional tank. The unit itself is more expensive. It is a more complex piece of technology. However, the main cost is in the installation. This is especially true for gas tankless models. These units are very powerful. They require a much larger gas line than your old tank. We often have to run a new, larger gas pipe from your meter.
They also have very specific, specialized venting requirements. We cannot use your old tank’s vent. We must install a new, dedicated stainless steel or PVC vent system. This involves drilling new holes to the outside. These gas and vent upgrades are required by code. They are critical for your safety. An electric tankless unit may require an upgraded electrical panel.
Sargent’s Plumbing & Drain provides free, in-person estimates. We will assess your gas line, electrical, and venting. We will then give you a detailed, straightforward quote. While the upfront cost is higher, the savings on your energy bills will help pay for the unit. The 20 year lifespan also makes it a great long term investment.
For most homeowners, the answer is a definite yes. A tankless water heater is worth the investment. The benefits are significant. The number one benefit is the endless hot water. For a family, this is a major lifestyle upgrade. You will never have to schedule your showers again. You can run the dishwasher and a load of laundry at the same time.
The second major benefit is energy savings. A tankless unit only heats water when you need it. A traditional tank is constantly heating 50 gallons of water, 24/7. This standby heat loss accounts for a large portion of your water heating bill. A tankless unit can be 20 to 40 percent more efficient. This saves you real money every single month.
Finally, they have double the lifespan. A tankless unit can last 20+ years. A tank will last 8 to 12. When you factor in the energy savings and the long life, the higher upfront cost is a very smart investment. It also adds significant modern value to your home.
Sizing a tankless water heater is very different from sizing a tank. We do not use gallons. Instead, we use two key metrics: flow rate and temperature rise. Flow rate is the maximum amount of hot water you will use at one time. It is measured in gallons per minute (GPM). We calculate this by adding up your fixtures. A shower is about 2.5 GPM. A faucet is 1.5 GPM. If you want to run two showers at once, you need a unit that can provide 5.0 GPM.
Temperature rise is the other factor. This is the difference between your cold groundwater temperature and your desired hot water temperature. In Oklahoma, our groundwater can be as cold as 40 degrees in the winter. If you want 120 degree hot water, you need a temperature rise of 80 degrees.
A unit’s power is rated by how many GPM it can produce at a specific temperature rise. Our expert plumbers will perform this calculation for you. We will assess your fixtures and your family’s habits. We will then recommend a unit that is perfectly sized for your home.
Maintenance is the most important thing you can do for your tankless water heater. The service is required annually to maintain the warranty. The main part of the service is descaling. Oklahoma has very hard water. This water is full of minerals, like calcium and magnesium. As you heat this water, these minerals come out. They form a hard, crusty scale inside the unit’s heat exchanger.
This scale buildup is a major problem. It acts as an insulator. This forces the unit’s burner to work harder. This wastes energy. Eventually, the scale will clog the narrow passages of the heat exchanger. This will restrict water flow and cause the unit to shut down. This is the number one cause of tankless heater failure.
Our maintenance service fixes this. We hook up a special pump. We flush the unit with a non toxic, food grade descaling solution. This solution dissolves all the scale. This restores your unit to its original, factory fresh condition. We also clean the air filters and inspect the sensors. This annual service is essential.
No. A properly sized tankless water heater will never run out of hot water. This is its primary benefit. A traditional tank heater stores a set amount of water, for example, 50 gallons. When you use that 50 gallons, it is gone. You must then wait 30 to 60 minutes for the tank to heat a new batch. This is why you run out of hot water.
A tankless water heater does not store water at all. It is a water heating appliance. It heats water in real time, as it passes through. As long as you are drawing water, the gas burner will be on. It will continue to heat that water indefinitely. You could run a shower for 24 hours straight, and the water would stay hot.
The only way a tankless unit runs out is if it is undersized. If you buy a unit that can only heat 3 GPM, and you try to run two showers (5 GPM), the water will be lukewarm. This is not running out; it is an installation error. Our expert plumbers will ensure your unit is sized correctly. This will guarantee you have an endless supply.
The choice between gas and electric depends on your home and your needs. Natural gas tankless water heaters are, by far, the most powerful and popular. A gas burner can produce a very large amount of hot water very quickly. This means a single gas unit can typically run an entire home. They are powerful enough for our cold Oklahoma winters. They are also very energy efficient. The main drawback is the installation cost. They require a large gas line and a new vent.
Electric tankless water heaters are an option, but they are much less powerful. A large, whole home electric unit requires a massive amount of electricity. Most homes in Broken Arrow do not have a large enough electrical panel to support one. They would require a very expensive panel upgrade.
Smaller, electric point of use heaters are very common. We often install a small electric unit under a single sink. This is for a garage or an outbuilding. It provides hot water for just that one faucet. For the whole home, endless hot water, a natural gas unit is almost always the superior choice.
A tankless water heater has a significantly longer lifespan than a traditional tank. A standard tank water heater will last, on average, 8 to 12 years. They are in a constant battle with rust. Eventually, the steel tank will corrode, and it will leak. At that point, it must be replaced.
A high quality tankless water heater has a life expectancy of 20 years or more. This is double the lifespan of a tank. There are two reasons for this. First, they do not store water. This means they are not constantly corroding. Second, they are designed to be serviced. The main components, like the heat exchanger, can be replaced.
This long life is a major part of their value. While the upfront cost is higher, you will buy one tankless unit in the time you would buy two, or even three, tank heaters. This 20+ year lifespan is, however, completely dependent on annual maintenance. You must have the unit descaled every year. If you neglect it, it will fail much sooner.
A tankless water heater is far less likely to leak than a tank heater. A traditional tank heater is designed to fail by leaking. The steel tank is constantly holding 50 gallons of corrosive water. Over 10 years, this water will win. It will rust a hole in the tank. This will cause a catastrophic leak, flooding your home.
A tankless water heater does not store water. It has no large tank to rust or burst. The only water in the unit is the water flowing through its pipes. It is possible for a pipe fitting or a connection to develop a small drip. This is a very minor leak. It is easily repaired. It is not the same as a 50 gallon tank bursting.
Many tankless units also have built in leak detectors and safety shutoffs. If the unit senses a problem, it will shut itself down. This prevents any major water damage. The risk of a major, damaging flood from a tankless water heater is extremely low. This is another major benefit of the technology.
