We have had Sargent’s out several times for various fixes and upgrades. They are well informed and do a great job laying out your options. They get the work done in a timely manner; they have good availability; and, their prices are on par with the market. We’ve also received recommendations for tradesman in other areas of home maintenance, which has helped us resolve issues outside the scope of plumbing.

Called Andrew for a leaking bathtub faucet. Sent him a video, and within an hour, he was there with the right part and had it fixed within 15 mins. Outstanding customer service and worth the price!
Our hot water tank went down this morning and we were at a loss. I called Sargent's plumbing and Andrew Sargent took my call. He had Jeffrey Sargent come to our house in a very short matter of time. Jeffrey installed a new hot water tank and you could tell that he really takes pride in his workmanship. Totally satisfied with the quick response and a job well done. Follow up, I had a slight drain problem from the install but Sargent's plumbing responded immediately and took care of it. Great company, with great service.
Sargents plumbing did a great job for us! They returned our service call immediately on a Sunday and came out to our home the following day at the exact time they said they would. The clogged drain was cleared immediately!!! Sargents plumbing staff is very professional and informative. Great service!!
I had the best experience with Sargent’s Plumbing & Drain I’ve ever had with someone in my home, beyond plumbing only. They came when they said they would. Came back to address concerns and make sure everything was right. Took care of our house and cleaned up after themselves. Andrew provided expertise as a plumber and exceptional customer service. Highly recommended!
Rather than charge for a service call, the owner walked me through how to fix my garbage disposal. Wow! Guess who is now in my contacts should I ever need a plumber again.
On time, professional and very fair with prices. Definitely use them again!
Outstanding job, very fast getting the job done replacing my hot water tank and fixing my leak. Highly recommend!

Great job installing new toilet and vanity. Timely and fair pricing. Will definitely use again.
Best plumber I've ever used. His attention to detail is amazing. He cares about the job he is doing, no matter the size. Neat, doesn't leave a mess. Very personal service, nothing like the corporate plumbing companies out there.
They did a great job addressing all of our issues and did it within one hour, which saved us a good amount of money.
Sargent Plumbing got me taken care of with same day service. Jeffrey’s attitude was very pleasant and professional. Will be using them for all my plumbing needs in the future.
They were quick to respond on the weekend and very reasonable on pricing. Highly recommend them!
Very knowledgeable. Arrived within 30 minutes after speaking with them.
Super awesome company! They were fast and super reasonably priced. We had an emergency water pipe bust and they were out same day without charging us an arm and a leg.
Andrew is very professional and fair priced and also makes an effort to connect and care for his customers. I had a pipe bust late one evening and not only did he drop what he was doing to get my home fixed up, he also gave me a more than a reasonable charge (didn’t hit me with a hefty emergency bill). I highly recommend Sargents plumbing for anything you need.
This is the best plumbing company i've ever used and I will be calling them for all of my future plumbing needs. Very professional, fairly priced, and great work. Highly recommend.
Did the job the same day the problem happened. Jeffrey did a great job fixing the problem. If you're looking for a reliable service, I highly recommend them.
Andrew is the best extremely knowledgeable and very helpful . I highly recommend !
Above and beyond on customer service! Fair quotes! Would recommend to anyone!
Bought a house a few months back that had plumbing issues we didn’t know where there. In a panic I searched the web for reputable companies and Sargent’s Plumbing and Drain came out within 30 mins, gave me a free quote and assured they would have it brand new. I can wholeheartedly endorse this amazing company led by a very respectable and knowledgeable young man. If you have ANY plumbing concerns, Sargents should be your first and only call!
We’ve used Sargent’s Plumbing twice and both times they were awesome! The first time was last Christmas Eve afternoon. Our half bath toilet was leaking. They were able to schedule us that day. Hayden arrived on time, assessed the situation, fixed it quickly and didn’t leave a mess. Just recently, the same toilet developed another problem. Called Sargent’s. Jeffrey arrived a little early (not a problem), listened to my concerns and made some adjustments hoping to correct the problem. Unfortunately, it didn’t. He told me it might not; that the toilet should be replaced. Doing that in a couple of days. Quoted a reasonable price for this replacement. He and Andrew have been very patient in answering my questions. Highly recommend!
We have had issues with our sewer backing up into the house for a long time. I was worried when I first called because Sargent’s charges by the hour but wait.. They helped unclog the drain so fast it will make your head spin! Super nice, honest, and much more than fair to say the least. Use Sargent’s once and you won’t let anyone else help with your plumbing. Our issue was a little flap that broke off to keep sewage from back flowing into the home. (Ironic isn’t it that this is exactly what this valve caused several times?!). We couldn’t be happier!
Jeffery was a quick and efficient plumber. He fixed the problem and he did a great job. He has a friendly personality and a hard worker. They get the job done right the first time!
I had a sudden pipe leak from old copper pipes on a weekend. I found Sargents and they came out right away and started working on a fix. They lined up a restoration company that was on the job immediately with machines to dehumidify. I ended up having them re pipe my house and they worked on a Sunday until it was finished. I also had them install a new water heater. Everything was done promptly and professionally. I would highly recommend
They were prompt and very informative. I am female and was never spoken down to (asi have experienced with others). Friendly. I highly recommend
Had a wonderful experience with Sargent's Plumbing! Andrew was very professional, extremely knowledgeable and provided excellent communication throughout the whole project! Great pricing and got us back up and running from our gas leak issue very quickly! Will be using them again in the future!

Water Filtration Systems in Broken Arrow, OK
Water filtration systems are appliances that remove impurities from your water. This service involves installing a point of entry (POE) system. This means we plumb the filter into your main water line. This ensures that every drop of water in your home is treated. This includes your showers, faucets, and laundry. We can install systems to remove chlorine, sediment, and chemicals. We also install water softeners. These are a type of filter that specifically removes hard water minerals. This service is designed to improve your water quality. It makes your water safer, tastier, and better for your home.
There are many types of whole house water filtration systems. The most common is a carbon filtration system. These are excellent at removing chlorine and chloramines. This dramatically improves the taste and smell of your water. They also remove organic chemicals and pesticides. Another common type is a sediment filter. This removes dirt, sand, and rust particles. These filters are often used as a pre filter. They protect more sensitive equipment, like a water softener. We can install a multi stage system. This combines several types of filters to tackle multiple problems at once.
Our installation process is professional and clean. We begin by helping you select the right system. We can test your water to identify its specific problems. Once you choose a system, we schedule the installation. Our licensed plumber will shut off your main water supply. We will then cut into your main water line. This is usually done near your water meter or water heater. We install the filter housing and a bypass valve. This bypass allows you to shut off the filter for service. We make all connections, test for leaks, and turn your water back on.
A water softener is a specific type of filtration system. It is designed to solve the problem of hard water. Hard water is water that is high in minerals, specifically calcium and magnesium. These minerals are not dangerous to drink. However, they are very destructive to your home. They create scale buildup. This scale clogs showerheads, ruins faucets, and destroys water heaters. Hard water also makes soap less effective. This leaves your skin dry, your hair dull, and your dishes spotted. A water softener removes these minerals. It uses a process called ion exchange.
Installing a water softener is a smart investment. It protects your entire plumbing system. Your pipes will no longer clog with scale. Your faucets and showerheads will flow freely. The biggest benefit is to your water heater. Scale buildup is the number one killer of water heaters. It forms on the heating element. This forces the unit to work harder, wasting energy. It will eventually cause the tank to fail. A water softener will double the lifespan of your water heater. It also improves your quality of life. Your skin will feel better, and your clothes will be cleaner.
We also offer repair and maintenance for water filtration systems. These systems are not set it and forget it. The filter cartridges must be replaced regularly. This is typically every six months to a year. A water softener needs to be refilled with salt. It also may need service on its head unit. This is the electronic control. Our plumbers can service all makes and models. We can replace your filters. We can also diagnose and repair a malfunctioning softener. This regular service ensures your system is always working. It guarantees you are getting the clean water you paid for.

What Makes a Great Water Filtration Systems Service
A great water filtration system service starts with an honest water test. The company should not use scare tactics. They should identify your specific water problems. They will then recommend the right system, not the most expensive one. The installation must be professional. The plumber uses high quality pipes and fittings. They will install a bypass valve for service. They will work cleanly and test for leaks. A great service includes a clear explanation. The plumber will show you how to maintain your new system.
Most Common Water Filtration Systems Questions
Getting a water filtration system is a major upgrade for your home’s health. Homeowners are often curious about the different types of filters and their benefits. Here are the most common questions we answer in Broken Arrow.
Whether you need a whole house filter depends on your water quality and your goals. The water in Broken Arrow is treated by the city. It is legally safe to drink. However, safe does not always mean ideal. City water is treated with chemicals like chlorine. Chlorine is a disinfectant. It is not pleasant to drink. It also dries out your skin and hair in the shower. A whole house carbon filter will remove this chlorine.
A whole house filter also protects your plumbing. City water can contain sediment. This sediment can clog faucet aerators. It can also damage the sensitive parts of your appliances. A whole house sediment filter removes this. So, while you may not need a filter for safety, many homeowners want one. They want better tasting water. They want healthier skin. They want to protect their plumbing investment.
The one system many homeowners in our area truly need is a water softener. Oklahoma has very hard water. This hard water is destructive. It will shorten the life of your dishwasher, your laundry machine, and your water heater. A water softener is not a luxury. It is an essential appliance. It is a key part of home maintenance in this region.
This is a very common and important distinction. A water filter and a water softener do two different jobs. A water filter is designed to remove contaminants. Think of it like a screen. It removes things like chlorine, chemicals, sediment, and bacteria. Its job is to improve the taste, smell, and safety of your water. It does not remove hard water minerals.
A water softener is a special type of system. Its one and only job is to remove the minerals that cause hard water. These are calcium and magnesium. A softener does not remove chlorine. It does not remove pesticides. It is not designed to make your water taste better, although it can. Its primary job is to protect your home. It stops scale buildup.
This is why many homeowners install both. We often install a whole house carbon filter. This is followed by a water softener. This combination gives you the best of both worlds. The carbon filter makes the water taste and smell great. The water softener protects your plumbing and appliances. Our plumbers can design a system that is perfect for you.
The cost of a water filtration system varies widely. The price depends on the type and size of the system. A simple, single tank whole house carbon filter is a very affordable option. This system is great for removing chlorine and improving taste. A more complex, multi stage system will cost more. This might include a sediment pre filter, a carbon tank, and a UV light.
A water softener is a separate cost. The price for a softener depends on its grain capacity. This is its size. A larger home with more people needs a larger, more expensive softener. The installation cost is also a factor. We must cut into your main water line. We also have to run a drain line for the softener’s regeneration cycle.
Sargent’s Plumbing & Drain provides free, in person estimates. We will come to your home and test your water. We will discuss your goals. We will then provide a straightforward quote. We offer financing to make this upgrade affordable. A filtration system is a long term investment. It saves you money on bottled water and appliance repairs.
Hard water is water that has a high concentration of dissolved minerals. The two main minerals are calcium and magnesium. This is a very common problem in Oklahoma. Our water comes from sources that are rich in limestone. As rainwater filters through this rock, it picks up these minerals. Hard water is not a health hazard. It is perfectly safe to drink.
However, hard water is a major nuisance and a destructive force in your home. The biggest problem is scale. When hard water is heated, the minerals come out. They form a hard, crusty, white deposit. This is scale. You see it on your showerheads, your faucets, and your dishes.
This scale also builds up where you cannot see it. It is inside your pipes, clogging them. It is inside your dishwasher. Most importantly, it is caked all over the heating element of your water heater. This scale buildup is the number one cause of water heater failure. It also makes your soap and shampoo less effective.
A water softener uses a process called ion exchange. The system consists of two main parts: the resin tank and the brine tank. The resin tank is the tall tank. It is plumbed into your main water line. This tank is filled with thousands of tiny, plastic resin beads. These beads have a negative electrical charge.
The hard water minerals, calcium and magnesium, have a positive electrical charge. As the hard water flows through the tank, the minerals are stuck to the resin beads. It is like a magnet. The minerals are captured. The soft water, now free of these minerals, flows out to your house. This is the softening process.
Eventually, the resin beads are completely full of minerals. They cannot hold any more. This is where the brine tank comes in. The brine tank is the short tank. You fill it with salt. The softener will periodically regenerate. It sucks the salty water, or brine, from the brine tank. It uses this brine to clean the resin beads. The salt water washes the calcium and magnesium off the beads. It flushes them down the drain. The beads are now recharged and ready to soften more water.
A whole house water filter, or point of entry system, is installed on your main water line. We install it at the point where the water first enters your home. This is almost always in your garage or a utility closet. We look for the spot right after your main water shutoff valve. By installing it here, we ensure that 100% of the water in your home is treated.
We will typically install the system near your water heater. This is a convenient, out of the way location. It also gives us easy access to a drain. A water softener needs a drain for its regeneration cycle. We also need access to an electrical outlet. The softener’s control head requires power.
Our professional plumbers will find the best, most efficient location. We will install the system neatly. We will secure the pipes to the wall. We will also install a bypass valve. This is a set of valves that lets you bypass the filter. This is critical for service. It allows you to change the filter without shutting off your home’s water.
The maintenance schedule depends on the type of system you have. If you have a cartridge style filter, the filter cartridge will need to be replaced. These are often used for sediment filters. A typical sediment filter needs to be replaced every 3 to 6 months. This depends on how much sediment is in your water.
If you have a large tank style carbon filter, there are no filters to change. The carbon media in the tank is designed to last for many years. These tanks are often self backwashing. This means they will automatically clean themselves. This type of system is very low maintenance.
A water softener does not have a filter to change. Its only maintenance is to add salt. You must keep the brine tank full of salt pellets. The softener will tell you when it is getting low. How often you add salt depends on your water hardness and your water usage. Most homeowners add a bag of salt every one to two months.
A whole house water filtration system is not a simple DIY project. This job requires advanced plumbing skills. You must cut into your home’s main water supply line. This is the most important pipe in your house. If you make a mistake, you can flood your entire home. The new connections must be perfect and leak free.
A water softener is even more complex. It requires you to run a drain line. This drain line must be run correctly, with an air gap. This is a code requirement. It prevents sewage from being siphoned back into your fresh water. The system also has electronic components that need to be programmed.
An improper installation can cause leaks. It can also cause a major drop in your home’s water pressure. It is best to have a licensed plumber do this job. Sargent’s Plumbing & Drain can install your system correctly and safely. We will ensure it is code compliant. We also provide a long term warranty on our installation.
