We have had Sargent’s out several times for various fixes and upgrades. They are well informed and do a great job laying out your options. They get the work done in a timely manner; they have good availability; and, their prices are on par with the market. We’ve also received recommendations for tradesman in other areas of home maintenance, which has helped us resolve issues outside the scope of plumbing.

Our hot water tank went down this morning and we were at a loss. I called Sargent's plumbing and Andrew Sargent took my call. He had Jeffrey Sargent come to our house in a very short matter of time. Jeffrey installed a new hot water tank and you could tell that he really takes pride in his workmanship. Totally satisfied with the quick response and a job well done. Follow up, I had a slight drain problem from the install but Sargent's plumbing responded immediately and took care of it. Great company, with great service.

We’ve used Sargent’s Plumbing twice and both times they were awesome! The first time was last Christmas Eve afternoon. Our half bath toilet was leaking. They were able to schedule us that day. Hayden arrived on time, assessed the situation, fixed it quickly and didn’t leave a mess. Just recently, the same toilet developed another problem. Called Sargent’s. Jeffrey arrived a little early (not a problem), listened to my concerns and made some adjustments hoping to correct the problem. Unfortunately, it didn’t. He told me it might not; that the toilet should be replaced. Doing that in a couple of days. Quoted a reasonable price for this replacement. He and Andrew have been very patient in answering my questions. Highly recommend!

We have had issues with our sewer backing up into the house for a long time. I was worried when I first called because Sargent’s charges by the hour but wait.. They helped unclog the drain so fast it will make your head spin! Super nice, honest, and much more than fair to say the least. Use Sargent’s once and you won’t let anyone else help with your plumbing. Our issue was a little flap that broke off to keep sewage from back flowing into the home. (Ironic isn’t it that this is exactly what this valve caused several times?!). We couldn’t be happier!

I had a sudden pipe leak from old copper pipes on a weekend. I found Sargents and they came out right away and started working on a fix. They lined up a restoration company that was on the job immediately with machines to dehumidify. I ended up having them re pipe my house and they worked on a Sunday until it was finished. 24/7 EMERGENCY Water Heater Installation

A water heater that has burst and is flooding your home requires an emergency replacement. This is a situation that cannot wait. Sargent’s Plumbing & Drain offers 24/7 emergency water heater installation. Homeowners in Broken Arrow and nearby cities trust our rapid response. We never charge extra fees for homeowner emergency or weekend calls.

Water Heater Installation in Broken Arrow, OK

Our water heater installation process is thorough and designed for safety. The service begins with a free in person estimate. We assess your old unit and your home’s hot water needs. We will recommend the correct size tank. On installation day, we will first shut off the water and gas or electric supply. We will then professionally drain and remove your old, heavy water heater. We will dispose of it properly for you. We then set the new water heater in place. We ensure it is level and secure.

Making the correct connections is the most critical part of the job. Our licensed plumbers will connect the new heater to your cold water supply and hot water outlet. We use high quality, durable fittings to prevent leaks. We will also install a new water heater expansion tank. This is a vital safety device required by code. For a gas heater, we connect the gas line. We use a new flexible connector and test for leaks. For an electric heater, we wire the unit to the circuit.

Safety is our top priority, especially with gas heaters. A gas water heater must be vented correctly. This vent pipe carries toxic carbon monoxide safely out of your home. We will inspect your existing vent. We will ensure it is sloped correctly and free of blockages. If it is not safe, we will replace it. We also install a new Temperature and Pressure (T&P) relief valve. This is a critical safety device that prevents the tank from exploding. Our plumbers follow all codes.

Gas water heaters are the most popular choice in Broken Arrow. They are very efficient at heating water. They use a gas burner at the bottom of the tank. This allows them to heat a large amount of water quickly. This is known as the “recovery rate.” A gas heater is great for larger families. They are generally less expensive to operate than electric models. Our team is fully certified to work with gas lines. We ensure your installation is 100% safe.

Electric water heaters are another great option. They are often simpler to install. They do not require a gas line or a complex vent system. This makes them a good choice for some homes. They use large electric heating elements inside the tank to heat the water. They are very quiet and reliable. We install all sizes of electric water heaters. Our plumbers will ensure the unit is wired correctly. We will check your circuit breaker to ensure it can handle the load.

Choosing the right size water heater is essential. If your tank is too small, you will run out of hot water. If it is too large, you will waste energy. We do not just guess. We will help you calculate the right size based on your “first hour rating” (FHR). This is the amount of hot water the heater can produce in one hour. We will consider the number of people in your home. We also consider the number of bathrooms and your appliance usage. This ensures you get a heater that is perfect for your family.

Choosing Sargent’s Plumbing & Drain is a smart decision. We are a locally owned company built on honesty and hard work. We are fully licensed and insured for this work. We provide free in person estimates. Our quotes are straightforward and have no hidden fees. We back our installations with long term warranties on both parts and labor. We offer discounts for veterans, seniors, and teachers. We provide 5 star service. We are your partners in reliable home plumbing.

All Services Offered By Our Plumbers in Broken Arrow, OK

Sargent’s Plumbing & Drain is based in Broken Arrow, located at 605 W Oakland Pl, Broken Arrow, OK 74012, proudly serves customers in the Tulsa metro area. In addition to Water Heater Installation, we offer a full range of plumbing services for homes and businesses. Below is our services list offered by our plumbers:

What Makes a Great Water Heater Installation Service

A great water heater installation is defined by safety and precision. The service starts with helping the homeowner select the right size unit. The plumber arrives on time and protects your home. They will remove and dispose of the old unit. They install the new heater to all local plumbing codes. This includes a new expansion tank and T&P valve. For a gas unit, they meticulously check the gas line and vent. The plumber tests the unit, checks for leaks, and cleans the area.

Most Common Water Heater Installation Questions

A new water heater is a major purchase. Homeowners often have questions about the cost, the types, and the installation process. Here are the most common questions we answer.

The total cost of a new water heater installation depends on several factors. The first factor is the type of heater you choose. Gas, electric, and tankless models all have different prices. The size of the tank is also a major factor; a 50 gallon tank costs more than a 40 gallon one. The installation complexity will also affect the price. If we need to upgrade your gas line or vent pipe, that will add to the cost.

Sargent’s Plumbing & Drain provides free in person estimates for all installations. This allows us to see your current setup. We can determine if any code upgrades are needed. We will then give you a straightforward, all inclusive quote. Our price includes the new water heater, all materials, and the labor. It also includes the disposal of your old unit.

Our quotes are honest and transparent. We do not have hidden fees. We are a locally owned business built on integrity. We also offer 10% discounts for veterans, teachers, and seniors. We provide long term warranties on our installations. This gives you peace of mind that you are making a solid investment.

Choosing the right size water heater is crucial for your family’s comfort. If you get a tank that is too small, you will constantly run out of hot water. If you get one that is too large, you will waste money. You will be paying to heat water you do not use. We size a tank based on its “First Hour Rating” (FHR). This number tells you how many gallons of hot water the heater can produce in one hour of high use.

We will help you calculate the FHR you need. We will ask you about your family’s “peak demand.” This is the busiest hour of the day, usually in the morning. We will count the number of showers, faucets, and appliances you use. A large family with three bathrooms will need a much higher FHR than a couple in a one bathroom home.

A 50 gallon tank is the most common size. It is a good fit for a typical family of three to four people. A smaller family might be fine with a 40 gallon tank. A very large family may need a 75 gallon tank. Our plumbers are experts at this. We will recommend the perfect size so you are never left in the cold.

The main difference is the fuel source. A gas water heater uses a natural gas burner. This burner is at the bottom of the tank. It heats the water quickly. An electric water heater uses large heating elements. These are metal rods inside the tank that get very hot. They heat the water like a giant tea kettle.

Gas water heaters generally have a lower operating cost. Natural gas is typically cheaper than electricity. They also heat water much faster. This is called a high “recovery rate.” This makes them great for large families. The downside is that they require a gas line and a vent. An electric water heater is often cheaper to purchase and install. It does not need a vent.

The choice depends on what your home is set up for. If you have a gas line, a gas heater is usually the better choice. If your home is all electric, an electric model is your only option. Our plumbers are experts at installing both. We will ensure your new unit is installed safely and to all codes.

A standard water heater installation is a fast, same day service. For a simple, like for like replacement, our plumber can be in and out in about two to four hours. This includes the full process. We will arrive, shut off your water, and protect your floors. We will then drain the old tank. This is often the longest part of the job.

Once the old tank is drained, we remove it. We will bring in the new water heater and set it in place. We will then make all the new connections. This includes the water pipes, the expansion tank, and the T&P valve. We will also connect the gas or electric supply.

Once the unit is connected, we fill the tank. We will then light the pilot or turn on the breaker. We test the unit to make sure it is heating. We check all our connections for leaks. We will clean up the work area. We will also haul your old water heater away for you.

A water heater expansion tank is a small, separate tank. It is installed on the cold water pipe near your heater. This is a critical safety device. It is required by all plumbing codes. Its job is to absorb pressure. When your water heater heats up 50 gallons of water, that water expands. This is a law of physics called “thermal expansion.”

In a modern, “closed loop” plumbing system, this expanded water has nowhere to go. This can cause the pressure in your pipes to spike. This pressure is very dangerous. It can damage your faucets. It can burst your pipes. It can also destroy your brand new water heater. It can even cause the T&P valve to leak.

The expansion tank acts like a shock absorber. It has a rubber bladder inside. The excess, expanded water flows into this tank. It compresses the air on the other side. This keeps your home’s water pressure safe. We will install a new expansion tank with every new water heater. This protects your home and your warranty.

The average lifespan of a traditional tank water heater is 8 to 12 years. This lifespan can be affected by several factors. The number one factor is your water quality. Broken Arrow has very hard water. This hard water is full of minerals. These minerals build up inside your tank. This sediment will cause the tank to fail.

The second factor is maintenance. Your water heater has a “sacrificial anode rod” inside. This rod is designed to corrode. The water attacks this rod instead of your steel tank. This rod needs to be inspected and replaced. If you do not, your tank will rust out very quickly. An annual inspection can help your heater last 15 years.

If your water heater is over 10 years old, you should start planning for a replacement. Do not wait for it to fail. A heater that fails will often leak. This can flood your garage or basement. A proactive replacement is much less stressful. It is also less expensive than a flood cleanup.

An anode rod is the secret to your water heater’s long life. It is a long metal rod that is screwed into the top of your tank. It is made of a “sacrificial” metal, like magnesium or aluminum. Your water heater’s tank is made of steel. Water is corrosive. Over time, it will try to rust and eat through the steel tank.

The anode rod prevents this. The corrosive elements in the water are more attracted to the anode rod. They will attack and corrode this rod, leaving your tank alone. The rod is “sacrificing” itself to protect your water heater. This is why it is so important.

Over 5 to 10 years, this rod will be completely eaten away. Once it is gone, the water will begin to attack your steel tank. The tank will then rust and leak. This is the end of its life. As part of our inspection service, we check this rod. We can replace it. A simple, affordable anode rod replacement can add years to your heater’s life.

Yes, absolutely. The removal and disposal of your old water heater is included in our installation service. A water heater is a large, heavy, and difficult item to move. An old tank can still have 50 gallons of water in it. This can weigh over 400 pounds. This is not something a homeowner should try to move.

Our licensed plumbers have the proper equipment. We use heavy duty dollies. We will safely remove the old unit from your home. We will not damage your walls or floors. We then load it onto our truck. We take it to a proper disposal and recycling facility.

This is part of our full, 5 star service. You do not have to worry about a thing. When we leave, your old, leaky heater will be gone. Your new, efficient heater will be up and running. Your work area will be clean. All you have to do is enjoy the hot water.
