We have had Sargent’s out several times for various fixes and upgrades. They are well informed and do a great job laying out your options. They get the work done in a timely manner; they have good availability; and, their prices are on par with the market. We’ve also received recommendations for tradesman in other areas of home maintenance, which has helped us resolve issues outside the scope of plumbing.

Called Andrew for a leaking bathtub faucet. Sent him a video, and within an hour, he was there with the right part and had it fixed within 15 mins. Outstanding customer service and worth the price!
Our hot water tank went down this morning and we were at a loss. I called Sargent's plumbing and Andrew Sargent took my call. He had Jeffrey Sargent come to our house in a very short matter of time. Jeffrey installed a new hot water tank and you could tell that he really takes pride in his workmanship. Totally satisfied with the quick response and a job well done. Follow up, I had a slight drain problem from the install but Sargent's plumbing responded immediately and took care of it. Great company, with great service.
Sargents plumbing did a great job for us! They returned our service call immediately on a Sunday and came out to our home the following day at the exact time they said they would. The clogged drain was cleared immediately!!! Sargents plumbing staff is very professional and informative. Great service!!
I had the best experience with Sargent’s Plumbing & Drain I’ve ever had with someone in my home, beyond plumbing only. They came when they said they would. Came back to address concerns and make sure everything was right. Took care of our house and cleaned up after themselves. Andrew provided expertise as a plumber and exceptional customer service. Highly recommended!
Rather than charge for a service call, the owner walked me through how to fix my garbage disposal. Wow! Guess who is now in my contacts should I ever need a plumber again.
On time, professional and very fair with prices. Definitely use them again!
Outstanding job, very fast getting the job done replacing my hot water tank and fixing my leak. Highly recommend!

Great job installing new toilet and vanity. Timely and fair pricing. Will definitely use again.
Best plumber I've ever used. His attention to detail is amazing. He cares about the job he is doing, no matter the size. Neat, doesn't leave a mess. Very personal service, nothing like the corporate plumbing companies out there.
They did a great job addressing all of our issues and did it within one hour, which saved us a good amount of money.
Sargent Plumbing got me taken care of with same day service. Jeffrey’s attitude was very pleasant and professional. Will be using them for all my plumbing needs in the future.
They were quick to respond on the weekend and very reasonable on pricing. Highly recommend them!
Very knowledgeable. Arrived within 30 minutes after speaking with them.
Super awesome company! They were fast and super reasonably priced. We had an emergency water pipe bust and they were out same day without charging us an arm and a leg.
Andrew is very professional and fair priced and also makes an effort to connect and care for his customers. I had a pipe bust late one evening and not only did he drop what he was doing to get my home fixed up, he also gave me a more than a reasonable charge (didn’t hit me with a hefty emergency bill). I highly recommend Sargents plumbing for anything you need.
This is the best plumbing company i've ever used and I will be calling them for all of my future plumbing needs. Very professional, fairly priced, and great work. Highly recommend.
Did the job the same day the problem happened. Jeffrey did a great job fixing the problem. If you're looking for a reliable service, I highly recommend them.
Andrew is the best extremely knowledgeable and very helpful . I highly recommend !
Above and beyond on customer service! Fair quotes! Would recommend to anyone!
Bought a house a few months back that had plumbing issues we didn’t know where there. In a panic I searched the web for reputable companies and Sargent’s Plumbing and Drain came out within 30 mins, gave me a free quote and assured they would have it brand new. I can wholeheartedly endorse this amazing company led by a very respectable and knowledgeable young man. If you have ANY plumbing concerns, Sargents should be your first and only call!
We’ve used Sargent’s Plumbing twice and both times they were awesome! The first time was last Christmas Eve afternoon. Our half bath toilet was leaking. They were able to schedule us that day. Hayden arrived on time, assessed the situation, fixed it quickly and didn’t leave a mess. Just recently, the same toilet developed another problem. Called Sargent’s. Jeffrey arrived a little early (not a problem), listened to my concerns and made some adjustments hoping to correct the problem. Unfortunately, it didn’t. He told me it might not; that the toilet should be replaced. Doing that in a couple of days. Quoted a reasonable price for this replacement. He and Andrew have been very patient in answering my questions. Highly recommend!
We have had issues with our sewer backing up into the house for a long time. I was worried when I first called because Sargent’s charges by the hour but wait.. They helped unclog the drain so fast it will make your head spin! Super nice, honest, and much more than fair to say the least. Use Sargent’s once and you won’t let anyone else help with your plumbing. Our issue was a little flap that broke off to keep sewage from back flowing into the home. (Ironic isn’t it that this is exactly what this valve caused several times?!). We couldn’t be happier!
Jeffery was a quick and efficient plumber. He fixed the problem and he did a great job. He has a friendly personality and a hard worker. They get the job done right the first time!
I had a sudden pipe leak from old copper pipes on a weekend. I found Sargents and they came out right away and started working on a fix. They lined up a restoration company that was on the job immediately with machines to dehumidify. I ended up having them re pipe my house and they worked on a Sunday until it was finished. I also had them install a new water heater. Everything was done promptly and professionally. I would highly recommend
They were prompt and very informative. I am female and was never spoken down to (asi have experienced with others). Friendly. I highly recommend
Had a wonderful experience with Sargent's Plumbing! Andrew was very professional, extremely knowledgeable and provided excellent communication throughout the whole project! Great pricing and got us back up and running from our gas leak issue very quickly! Will be using them again in the future!

Sump Pump Repair in Broken Arrow, OK
Sump pump repair is the service of diagnosing and fixing a failed flood protection system. Your pump is a mechanical device that will wear out over time. Our repair service addresses all common failure points. This includes replacing a stuck or broken float switch. It also includes replacing a failed motor or a broken check valve. We can also troubleshoot and replace dead batteries in your backup system. A repair is often a fast and cost effective way to restore your system. It is much cheaper than a full replacement. It is also much, much cheaper than cleaning up a flooded basement.
There are several clear signs that your sump pump needs a repair. The most obvious is a pump that will not turn on. If your basin is full of water, but the pump is silent, it has failed. Another sign is a pump that runs constantly. This is called short cycling. It may be caused by a faulty float switch or a broken check valve. Strange, loud noises like grinding or rattling are also a major red flag. This indicates a mechanical failure, such as a damaged impeller. Finally, if your pump is over eight years old, it is living on borrowed time.
Our repair process is fast and thorough. When our licensed plumber arrives, they will first assess the situation. They will test the pump’s electrical connection and the float switch. The float switch is the most common part to fail. It can get stuck or simply wear out. If the switch is bad, we can often replace just the switch. If the motor is humming but not pumping, the impeller may be jammed. We will clear the jam or replace the impeller. We also inspect the check valve. A failed check valve can cause the pump to run constantly.
We are a locally owned business built on honesty and hard work. We will always give you a straightforward assessment. If your pump can be repaired reliably, we will provide a quote for the repair. A new switch or check valve is a simple, affordable fix. However, if your pump is old and the motor is burned out, a repair is not a good investment. In this case, we will recommend a new sump pump installation. We will provide a clear, no pressure quote for both options. Our goal is to provide a lasting, 5 star solution.
Regular maintenance is the best way to avoid emergency repairs. You should test your sump pump every few months. You can do this by pouring a bucket of water into the basin. This should raise the float and trigger the pump. You should also unplug your main pump. Then, test the battery backup system in the same way. If either pump fails this test, call us for a repair. Do not wait for a storm to find out your pump is dead. This simple test can save you thousands of dollars in water damage.
A sump pump that runs all the time is a serious problem. This issue will burn out the pump’s motor very quickly. The most common cause is a failed check valve. This valve is supposed to stop water in the discharge pipe from falling back. When it fails, water flows back into the pit. This fills the basin and triggers the pump again. We can easily replace this check valve. Another cause is a stuck float switch. The switch is stuck in the on position. Our plumbers can unstick or replace the switch.
When you call us for a repair, you get our 5 star service guarantee. We offer 24/7 emergency service for homeowners. We never charge extra for weekend or night calls. Our plumbers are licensed and insured. We provide long term warranties on our repair work. We also offer 10% discounts for veterans, teachers, and seniors. We are dedicated to the Broken Arrow community. We are your trusted partners in protecting your home from floods. We arrive quickly, work cleanly, and solve the problem.

This includes float switches and check valves. They will accurately diagnose the problem. They will offer an honest recommendation: repair or replace. The repair is tested thoroughly before they leave.
Most Common Sump Pump Repair Questions
When your main line of defense against a flood fails, it is stressful. Homeowners have urgent questions about the failure and how to fix it. Here are the most common questions we answer about sump pump repair in Broken Arrow.
A sump pump can stop working for several reasons. The most common cause of a sudden failure is a power outage. A standard pump runs on electricity, so if your power is out, your pump is off. This is why a battery backup is so critical. The second most common reason is a failed float switch. The float is the trigger. If it gets stuck or breaks, it will never tell the pump to turn on.
The pump’s motor can also burn out. This happens over time, especially if the pump is old. A pump that runs constantly due to a broken check valve will also burn out quickly. The impeller, which is the fan that moves the water, can also get jammed. Debris, mud, or gravel can get sucked in. This will cause the motor to hum, but no water will move.
Our technicians can quickly diagnose the exact cause of failure. We will check the power supply. We will test the float switch. We will inspect the impeller and the check valve. Once we find the problem, we can provide a straightforward quote for the repair. We carry most of these common parts on our trucks.
A sump pump that runs all the time, or turns on and off every few minutes, is short cycling. This is a serious problem that will destroy the pump’s motor. The most common cause is a failed or missing check valve. The check valve is a one way flap. It lets water be pumped out. It stops the water in the discharge pipe from falling back into the basin.
When this valve breaks, all the water in the pipe falls back in. This backflow fills the basin right back up. This immediately triggers the float switch. The pump turns on again. It pumps the same water out. This cycle repeats over and over. This is a simple and affordable repair. We can install a new, high quality check valve.
Another cause is a stuck float switch. The switch is jammed in the on position. It is constantly telling the pump to run, even if the basin is empty. This can also be caused by an undersized pump. If the pump is too weak for the amount of water, it will run constantly and never catch up. Our team can diagnose the exact cause.
A sump pump should be relatively quiet. You may hear a humming sound when it runs. If you suddenly hear a loud, abnormal noise, it is a sign of a mechanical problem. A grinding or rattling sound is a major red flag. This usually means the impeller is damaged. The impeller is the part that spins to move the water.
This noise can be caused by the impeller striking the side of the pump housing. This means the bearings have failed. It can also be caused by debris. A small stone or piece of gravel may have gotten sucked into the pump. This debris is rattling around inside, destroying the impeller.
You should unplug the pump and call us immediately. Running a pump that is making these noises will cause it to fail completely. Our plumbers can inspect the pump. We may be able to clear the debris. If the impeller or motor is damaged, we will likely recommend a replacement.
A sump pump repair is usually a very fast service. We treat these calls with high priority, especially during rainy weather. Our 24/7 emergency service means we will get a plumber to your home quickly. Once we arrive, the diagnosis process is fast. Our experienced plumbers can typically find the problem in just a few minutes.
Most repairs are completed in under an hour. Replacing a failed float switch or a broken check valve is a straightforward job. Our trucks are stocked with these common parts. This means we can complete the repair in a single visit. You will not have to wait for us to order a part.
If we find that the pump’s motor is dead, we will recommend a replacement. This is also a fast service. We carry new, high quality pumps and battery backup systems on our trucks. We can install a brand new system for you on the spot. Our goal is to get your basement protected from flooding as fast as possible.
This is a question of value and reliability. We are an honest company. We will always try to repair your pump if it is a smart financial decision. If your pump is only a few years old and has a failed switch, a repair is a great choice. It is a small, inexpensive part that will restore your system.
However, if your pump is 10 years old and the motor is dead, a repair is a bad investment. The motor is the most expensive part. It does not make sense to spend hundreds on a repair. You would be putting a new motor in a 10 year old pump. The other parts are just as old and will likely fail soon.
We will give you an honest recommendation. We will provide a quote for the repair. We will also provide a quote for a new installation. We will tell you the age and condition of your pump. We will then let you make the best decision for your home and budget. Our goal is a long term, 5 star solution.
The float switch is the brains of your sump pump. It is the part that tells the pump when to turn on and when to turn off. It is a simple, mechanical switch. As water flows into the sump basin, the water level rises. This rising water lifts a float. This float is attached to a lever or a wire. When the float reaches a set height, it triggers the switch. This sends power to the pump, and it turns on.
As the pump empties the basin, the water level drops. The float falls with the water. When it reaches a low point, it triggers the switch again. This cuts the power, and the pump turns off. This is a simple, but critical, mechanism. It is also the most common part to fail.
Float switches can get stuck. Debris in the pit can jam the float. The switch itself can also just wear out from use. A tethered float switch can get tangled. A vertical float switch can get clogged with grit. We can repair or replace all types of float switches.
Your battery backup system is a smart device. It constantly monitors your home’s power and the battery’s health. The alarm, which is often a loud beeping, is designed to get your attention. It is telling you that something is wrong. The alarm will sound for several reasons. The most common is that your power is out. It is alerting you that it is now on duty.
The alarm will also sound if the backup pump has been activated. This means your primary pump failed. The water rose high enough to trigger the backup. The system is telling you that your main pump is broken. The alarm can also sound if the battery is dead or dying. The system performs a self test. If the battery fails, it will alert you.
Do not just unplug the alarm. You must find out why it is beeping. Check your home’s power. Check your primary pump. If you cannot find the cause, call us. We can service your backup system. We will find out why the alarm is on. We can replace the battery or repair the pump.
You should proactively replace your primary sump pump. Do not wait for it to fail. A primary pump has a life expectancy of 7 to 10 years. This depends on its quality and how often it runs. If your pump is 10 years old, you should replace it. The cost of a new pump is a tiny fraction of the cost of a flooded basement. It is a smart, preventative investment.
The battery in your backup system must be replaced more often. A deep cycle battery, even a high quality one, only lasts 3 to 5 years. The battery degrades over time, even if it is never used. After 5 years, it will not hold enough charge to run your pump.
Sargent’s Plumbing & Drain can help you with this maintenance. We can track the age of your equipment. We can come out and install a new pump before the old one fails. We can also provide and install new batteries. This proactive service is the best way to guarantee you are always protected.
